Three gaps most websites have

Since a landmark ruling in 2025, competitors in Germany can use GDPR violations to take legal action – with penalties potentially reaching €50,000. What was once the domain of data protection authorities has become a business weapon. The three most common issues:

What will be implemented

Cookie consent and legal documents from one source

The technical foundation for your GDPR compliance – configured for your business, monitored daily.

Real tracker protection

Most cookie banners look the part but don't do the job – scripts still fire as soon as the page loads. This system blocks every tracker until the visitor actively gives consent.

Keep your ad data measurable

Reject a cookie and your analytics break – unless the setup is done right. With the correct integration, your campaign data stays usable across Google, Meta and Microsoft, even when visitors decline.

Google Consent Mode v2

Mandatory since March 2024 for anyone running Google Analytics or Google Ads in the EU. I set it up correctly so your campaign data stays actionable even when visitors say no to cookies.

Daily automated monitoring

A daily scanner checks your site for all active trackers – including any that sneak in through plugin updates. If something looks off, you'll know straight away.

Every consent logged

Every acceptance and rejection is recorded with a timestamp. If you're ever audited, the evidence is ready.

Matching your brand

The banner looks like it belongs on your site – in your colours, in the right language, switching automatically based on where your visitors are browsing from.

The legal essentials every website needs

Legal notice, privacy policy, cookie policy and a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) for your tools – created, individually configured and embedded directly into your website.

Industry-specific & always current

Depending on your field: general terms, cancellation policy, course terms, booking conditions or patient consent. When the law changes, your documents are updated automatically.

EU-wide & multilingual

The consent system detects which rules apply – GDPR for EU visitors, nDSG for Switzerland. With 44 languages and automatic geo-detection, it works for businesses serving customers across borders.
For businesses in regulated industries (healthcare, B2B contracts, SaaS), a specialist legal review is available on request.

About Urban X Design

Hi, I'm Benjamin. For several years, I have helped companies build websites – with a focus on user experience, clarity, and impact. Most businesses don't realise their site is breaking GDPR rules until someone actually checks: a missing document, a cookie banner that doesn't actually block anything, or no DPA covering the tools they use every day. I developed the Smart Website Checker to make exactly such weaknesses visible – automatically, with no technical knowledge required. Whatever it flags, I fix.

As CEO, I’m not just satisfied – I’m thrilled with how perfectly the website represents our services. As a local provider in a rural area, I especially appreciate the visibility and relevance our website now has in search results related to solar systems.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

A decorative banner gives visitors a choice – but tracking scripts fire the moment the page loads, regardless of what they click. Real protection means nothing runs until the visitor has actively consented: no script, no tracker, no pixel. That's what a Pre-Boot Shield does. It's the only approach that's actually GDPR-compliant.

Google Analytics processes personal data – IP addresses, browsing behaviour – on your behalf. That makes Google a data processor under Art. 28 GDPR, and a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) becomes a legal requirement. The same goes for Meta Pixel, newsletter platforms, hosting providers and most other third-party tools.

Since March 2024, Google requires Consent Mode v2 for all websites running Google Analytics or Google Ads in the EU. Without it, you lose conversion data the moment a visitor declines cookies. With it, Google can model the missing data – so your campaigns stay measurable and can still be optimised.

It's not a legal requirement for service providers – but going without them means default statutory rules apply, which are often less favourable. For B2B businesses in particular, clear terms matter when it comes to liability, payment timelines and ownership of deliverables.

The documents are built to current legal standards and work well for most standard business setups. They're generated by an AI-powered legal text system and individually configured for your business – but they're not a substitute for legal advice. For businesses in more complex situations – healthcare, B2B contracts, platforms – I recommend a review by a specialist legal partner, available on request.

Your documents are monitored continuously. When there's a relevant update – a new court ruling, a regulatory change – you'll get notified and I'll update your documents as part of the ongoing service.

Cookie consent setup usually takes 1–2 business days. Legal documents are created and integrated within 3–5 business days. Add 5–7 business days if a specialist legal review is requested.

As part of the ongoing service, I handle all updates, adjustments and monitoring. Need to add a new tool, change a language, or update the design? Just drop me a message.

Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer. The documents are built from your inputs and current legal requirements – they're correctly configured, but they don't replace professional legal advice. For businesses with more complex needs, a review by a specialist legal partner is available on request.
